Awsomer. It's not really a word, yet.

Oh, Laura, it's beautiful! I was about to continue our conversation from your earlier version when I saw this! I think there is much more 'oneness' between the main figures and background now, and a beautiful subtlety in the whole painting.

It's all tying in much better now Laura. the graininess of this versions eems to be pulling it altogether nicely. I'm of the mind that a few nice pen marks to give form to a cloud or two around the bottom of the sky, near the horse's legs would help with depth.... That said, it's a lovely painting.

*cheer* :)

I went over to "Enhance" on the PEII toolbar, then "Adjust Color" "Hue/Saturation" then slid the saturation bar down about 30%. After that, I toggled the "Brightness" down, and "Contrast" up a notch.

If only I could've de-saturated this in real life...

Most likely that would help. I'll consider it, if I ever work on this again. :D

Thanks for all your thoughts on this...

:faint: Wow, thanks.

I'm going to start another piece with a similar "warrior" theme for my friend, and will try to internalize what I've learned from you and others as I put it together...

I think that did it! Works out perfectly, everything is cohesive, the grayer sky makes the samurai seem more fierce! Love this. Well done!
